Greg's Life

John “Greg” Seymour's life was a testament to adventure, love, and dedication. Born on March 4th, 1942, Greg's journey began in Seal Beach, California, where his love for the outdoors and nature blossomed. His early years in Stoddard’s Canyon ignited a passion for exploration, leading him to spend countless hours immersed in the canyon's wonders.

In the 1950s, Greg's family moved to West Covina, where he discovered two great loves: his wife Willie and the sea. Their adventures along the Orange County coast fueled his fascination with the ocean, eventually inspiring them to make the coastal area their home. After marrying in 1963 and graduating from Humboldt State in 1964, Greg embarked on a 40-year career in education, primarily within the Capistrano Unified School District.

Greg's teaching career was marked by a profound love for his students and a passion for igniting their curiosity. His classrooms were not just places of learning but gateways to discovery, filled with relics and treasures from his family's adventures. In 2004, Greg retired from teaching, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and inspiration.

Retirement only fueled Greg's zest for life. He spent his days diving in the ocean, camping with Willie, and serving his community in Three Arch Bay. Known affectionately as "The Finder" for his uncanny ability to retrieve lost items from the ocean, Greg's connection to the sea was undeniable.

In his final months, Greg continued to find solace and joy in the ocean, a true testament to his love for life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure, cherished by his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. John “Greg” Seymour's indelible footprint on this planet will be remembered and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
